As told to "Interfax" the head of operations director of "Scientific Restoration Workshop" Fresco "Tamara Anisimova, and now experts are reviewing rubble of the temple that was blown up during the Great Patriotic War.
Now all the pieces are in the studio, restorers to clean them. "We will try to gather the fragments of the whole fresco. What we have yet to find, not known, but in general, the church was completely painted, and he remained in good condition before the war," she said.
St. Michael Church was built in Novgorod in 1355, his painting was carried out at the end of XIV century - the beginning of XV century. During the war it was completely destroyed.
