Andre Lanskoy (Count Andrei Mikhailovich Lanskoy) was born in Moscow in 1902
In 1919 he moved to Kiev and enlisted in the White Army, some time in the Crimea, and finally, in 1921, he was able to go to Constantinople and then to come to Paris. There he took a few lessons from Sudeikina, then began to attend the Academy Grand Shomer. At the same time, he made friends with Mikhail /Larionov and Chaim Soutine, who had a significant impact on Lansky in 1920-s ..
Soon he was discovered by a German collector and gallery owner, Wilhelm Uhde, who organized his first exhibition in 1925
In 1928 he met a collector Roger Dyutiytsolem, who for 15 years and bought almost all of Lansky.
After a long period of figurative painting Lanskoy gradually moved towards abstraction, his first abstract works dated 1938
The 1930 dates and friendship of Lansky with Nicolas de Stael - they are often seen together exhibited. This friendship was cut short suicide was in 1955, but after this Lanskoy maintained relations with his family steel until his death.
At the end of his life he gave lessons very young Kate Zubchenko, who became his faithful friend and has proven a very talented artist.
He died in Paris in 1976
