Unbalanced Rossiyanka threw the cup in a famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa". The incident occurred in the Louvre is August 2, but news of it leaked to the media only on Tuesday, reports Reuters.
Apparently, the woman decided to take an act of vandalism, after she refused to obtain French citizenship. Rossiyanka, whose name is not called immediately detained by security of the Louvre and taken to the police.
"The woman threw the empty cup in the Mona Lisa." Cup shattered against the protective bullet-proof screen and, fortunately, did not bring any harm to da Vinci's masterpiece "- said the representative of the French museum David Madek.
At the station the woman passed a psychological test. Doctors tried to determine whether she is not suffering from Stendhal's syndrome - a rare mental disorder when, in the form of art a person experiences dizziness, confusion or a craving for violence. The results of examination of the arrested were not reported, said The Daily Mail.
Recall that the "Portrait of Madame Lisa Giocondo," written during the Renaissance Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci, is one of the most valuable paintings in the exhibition not only to the Louvre, but also throughout the world.
