Tale of the theater. Letters to friends. II
Posted July 25, 2008 a group of recipients.
Latest report on several performances, seen during the summer in 2008 I must say that all performances can be divided into four groups:
1) failure. Lack of professionalism of actors and director.
2) Boring. It seems to have everything - normal actors, directing, scenery, text. But look bored.
3) soundly. Not necessarily famous, but good actors and director, a decent text.
4) Strong. Not necessarily famous, but good actors and director, a decent text. But cool!
Type the first characteristic of weak provincial theaters and Moscow outsiders, which I try not to walk. Sin and academic, particularly when trying to go in the wake of the mass audience.
Most of Moscow's performances belong to 3 types, or by 2 type. Even with the availability of well-known artists and popular theater. For example: play "Lolita" in the "field" I refer to number 3. The play "The Break-feminine" in the "Mayak" (Theater. Mayakovsky) and "Caesar and Cleopatra" in the "Sphere" - a type 2. It was found that a well-known Bernard Shaw wrote a very boring in our time play. And does not help anything - beautiful scenery, добротная game artists, attempts director. Just bored.
The most interesting to watch, of course, Number 4. I must say that in my youth theater, when I visited from 80 to 100 performances per season, to the 4 types can be attributed only a few performances of this hundred. Alas, the talented little productions. And so they are more valuable. I decided to write this, it is useless letter, in order to share with you one interesting pattern:
I looked for my life just three plays on the complex and difficult novels of Fyodor Dostoevsky. And they all belong to such a rare type 4! Despite the different actors and directors, in different theaters and different times of the production.
to be continued ...
