Codex Sinaiticus, one of the two oldest Greek lists of the Old and New Testaments (IV century), digitized and laid out in Set.Proekt the virtual reunification of the Code took about four years, attended four libraries: the British, National, Library of the University of Leipzig and Library of the Monastery of St. Catherine in Sinai, said The Daily Telegraph. According to the newspaper The Guardian, a project worth about a million pounds.
Code sheets are stored in the four libraries, because of the exceptional fragility of the manuscript to work with them admit a very small number of researchers. Now the code is available to all. While the texts are provided with only the English translation, but in the future, the creators of the draft Codex Sinaiticus are going to complement it with the Russian and German.

In the electronic edition of the Code included sheets, found in the library of the monastery of St. Catherine in 1975: this is their first publication. Thanks to digitization, scientists refined the number of scribes who worked on the Code: previously it was thought that they were three, now it turned out that there were four.

Codex Sinaiticus par with the Vatican reflects the history of folding of the canon of Biblical texts. For example, the Codex Sinaiticus in the Gospel of Mark is shorter than the later versions of 12 poems: there is no episode with the appearance of the risen Christ to the apostles.
