Says Milena Orlova - former columnist "Commerce", and now Glavred ArtChronika.
Line Tar continued Milena Orlova:
On the cover of our magazine ( "ArtChronika") placed boxer Vladimir Klitschko, who was officially named the curator of the Ukrainian pavilion, which he in fact is not. In essence this is a PR triumph over art.
In order to get good press to hire a good PR agency. It is a pity that in Venice I came through the Moscow House of Photography. So be it. It was not my desire, and desire of my former guide, who did not want to pay for my trip. This ties the hands of journalists. Everything you read about the Venice Biennale in the Russian press - divide it into four or five. Our hands were tied and gagged their mouths. I do not know how to continue to develop my personal relationship with the Moscow House of Photography, but the situation in which I had to choose the interests of journalism before the interests of all Russian art probably was not very easy. But I decided that I'd rather remain a journalist. I mean the story of the incident with the work of Andrew Molodkina. Many foreign journalists were interested in this work, as politicians on the Biennale was little, the reference of the Chechen theme is such an interest. I agree with Olga L., it was a PR move by the artist. But I honestly do not understand how the curator may not know that the artist is making a PR move of this kind.
