Root Petersburger Mikhail Ivanovich Zoshchenko is known primarily as the father of incomparable writer MM Zoshchenko. Known as an artist who worked in various genres of art. From 1877 to 1884 he studied at the Academy of Arts, received for his achievements rank neklassnogo artist. In their creative aspirations was close to Peredvizhniki, the exhibition of which displayed his paintings: "Parish court" (1888), "Own a thief" (1889), "In anticipation of employment" (1890), "Divination," " At the fence, "" In the peasant's hut "(all - 1890)," In the silence "(1908).
Wrote MI Zoshchenko watercolors, collaborated with several magazines in St. Petersburg. In 1895 the artist moved to the mosaic workshop of the Academy of Fine Arts where, with his participation and under his leadership from paintings artists NA Shabunina and AN Popov met mosaic: "Departure from the village of Suvorov Konchanskoye (Check Suvorov in the Italian campaign of 1799)" (1904), "Suvorov Crossing the Alps in 1799" (1904). In 1905, MI Zoshchenko returned to painting. Portraits and household composition. Unfortunately, very short time: he dies at the age of 51, leaving the poor family: the widow and eight children, among them twelve Misha.
