Is not the concept of "artists from Russia of Jewish origin" is too narrow to create art reflecting the history of the twentieth century avant-garde museum? VK -
The answer to this question was a complete surprise for myself. It would seem that narrow perspective, but such a significant result. It was even difficult to imagine how massive was the contribution of Jewish artists from Russia to the art of XX century. Many, like Rothko and Nevelson were opening for us. It has already forgotten that they were born in the towns of Russia empire. We opened for Russia names that have been "assigned" by other countries. Also for these countries, we discovered that their "hometown heroes" - Jews, immigrants from Russia. Artists, which I gather is not just notable figures - this is the master, which determined the development of art of the twentieth century. And for a few artists managed to gather the best private collections, such as Leon Bakst, Chaim Soutine, Ilya Kabakov, Alexander Tischler (c)
