Sheloumov Athanasius Ivanovich

Biography: Born in Balta, Odessa region. In 1904 he took private drawing lessons. In 1908 he joined the OXY and later studied in the class of battle-painting at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts N. Samokisha. In 1914 he volunteered for the front. Started a private service, he graduated from the war cornet 10 th Lancers Regiment of Odessa. Sketched scenes of war and military life. In 1920, with parts of the White Army was evacuated in Gallipoli (Turkey), from there - in the Kingdom of C x C (Serbs, Croats and Slovenes). Received popularity as a painter of battle-pieces. Often painted landscapes from the Russian steppe horses and hunting scenes. In 1930 participated in a large exhibition of Russian art in Belgrade. Since 1945 he lived in Starnberg, near Munich. In 1962, held in Munich exhibition devoted to 150 anniversary of the war of 1812, as well as a number of solo exhibitions (1972, 1978, 1979). Her works are in museums, Yugoslavia, Germany and the United States.
