Pandora's Box, or Who is responsible for what. The exhibition of degenerate art in 1937
Here is the complete list of artists represented at vystvke "degenerate art" (exhibited 650 works), organized by the Nazis in 1937 in Munich, then in 11 other cities in Germany and Austria. I have tried for every artist - especially if it is not very well known - to give you some pictures, but it was not always possible - degenerates tried to destroy all traces of the creativity of these artists, not to mention the artists themselves, and you have to assume that in some cases, they are managed.
Jankel Adler (Adler, Jankel) (26.07.1895-25.04.1949) - German painter and engraver of Polish descent. He studied in Lodz, then to the School of Applied Arts in Barmen (now Vuppental). In 1939 he went as a volunteer in the Polish Army in France.
Ernst Barlach (Barlach, Ernst) (2.01.1870-24.10.1938) - the famous German expressionist sculptor. Most of his works were confiscated by the Nazis.
Philip Baukneht (Bauknecht, Philipp) (1884-1933) - German painter.
Otto Baum (Baum, Otto) (1900-1977) - German sculptor
Willi Baumeister (Baumeister, Willi) (22.01.1889-31.08.1955). In 1906 he entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. In 1910-20 gg. "Create images that are intended for not existing arzhitektury" ...
Herbert Bauer (Bayer, Herbert) (1900-1985) - Austrian graphic artist.
Rudolf Bauer (Bauer, Rudolf). He was mostly known for his novel with Hilda Rebay, the American artist and founder of the Museum of abstraktsionistkoy biased Arts, later renamed the Guggenheim Museum. Also known that, not being a member of the National Socialist Party, unsuccessfully ran for the post of minister of culture under the Nazi government.
