In 1974, when the whole world began to recognize him as one of the most significant hudozzhnikov of our time, his four-year son died in a car accident. Since then, work Botero became less hedonistic, more restrained.
In 1992, his enormous sculptures were exhibited in Paris at the Champs Elysees. In 2006, he had his exhibition at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal.
