The treasure discovered two Britons - David and Andrew Whelan, who were carried away searching for ancient tombs. Examining the territory of one of the farms in the county of North Yorkshire with metal detectors, they found an old coin. In the ground they found a gilded silver cup, 617 silver coins, gold bracelets, brooches, as well as pieces of raw silver. Experts believe that found the cup was made in northern France in the ninth century, and coins dated from the tenth century.
