Russian artist Viktor Karlovich Stemberg
Russian portrait painter, master of nudity, Victor Karlovich Stemberg (1863-1921) was born in Moscow into a family of Russified Germans.
From 1881 to 1883, was a free student at the Imperial Academy of arts.
From 1884 to 1885, he attended the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture, and from 1885, 1887 - at the Academy of Juliane, where his teachers were famous French artists William Adolphe Bouguereau and Antoine Robert-Fleury.
In the early 1890s, the artist settled in Moscow and began teaching in a private school of drawing.
In 1917 he moved to Petrograd, and in 1920 - in Nakhichevan.
