Dahila Ivan Semenovich
(1914-2007)
Ivan Semenovich was born in D. Topchina Dnepropetrovsk region (Ukraine). In 1939 he graduated from Dnipropetrovsk art College. Studied with N. Panin, V. Koreneva, who were followers of Russian realistic school of painting and in time learned skills from Ilya Repin and Abram Arkhipov. Subsequently, this had a huge impact on his choice of career.
Since 1949 he participated in art exhibitions.
Worked Ivan Semenovich mainly in the field of lyrical landscape and still life. His paintings are imbued with sensitivity to nature, fresh paint, clear mood. The artist called the Belarusian Levitan. He was a contemporary of Malevich, Saryan, Picasso, Dali, however, had its own exceptional craftsmanship.
The works of Ivan Dahila today adorn the collection of the National art Museum of Belarus, the Museum of modern art in Minsk, the Foundation of the Belarusian Union of artists, Grodno historical and archaeological Museum. The artist's works are in museums and private collections in Belarus, Russia, Spain, China, Belgium.
From 1958 was the Belarusian Union of artists. Cavalier of the Ukrainian order of merit. In 1996 he was awarded the title "Honored worker of arts of Belarus".
