Tatevosyan (Tadevosyan) yegishe Martirosov was born 24 September 1870, in Vagharshapat (now Echmiadzin). I was in high school at the Lazarev Institute in Moscow (1885), then at the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture, graduated in 1894.
In the early period of creativity was under the influence of Vardges Surenyants, but in the 1900-ies began to use in his work of pointillism and impressionism.
In 1896 participated in the 24th exhibition of the Association of traveling art exhibitions ("Wanderers").
In 1898 for the painting "the Duel" and "the Sermon" won two awards.
In 1898-1914 together with C. D. Polenov goes to Palestine and after this every year visits Middle East and Europe.
Later he participated in the exhibitions "World of art".
Until 1901 he lived in Moscow, then in Tiflis. He taught painting in Tiflis commercial College and the school of painting and sculpture.
Participated in the exhibitions "World of art" and the Union of artists of Russia.
In 1916 he organized and headed the Union of artists of Armenia.
His works are in the State Museum of arts of Georgia, the State gallery of Armenia, the State Museum of art of the peoples of the East (Moscow), as well as in private collections
