In 1920 - 1930 he worked as a painter of battle , continuing the tradition of battle paintings of the XIX century . Created one of the first Soviet dioramas - " Winter Storm " (1929 ) . Finished diorama " The Defense of Petrograd " (1939 ) , "The Battle on the Volga" (1946). He also wrote genre scenes, cityscapes and portraits.

Since 1915, he participated in exhibitions . Member and exhibitor association: " The Community of Artists " (1922-1925) , AHRR (1924). Since 1932 - Member LOSH .
