March 28, 2009 in the hotel «Marriott» Moscow Royal Aurora the auction number 1 «antiquarian books, maps, photographs, posters ». At the auctions of the Auction House, "Empire" has sold 75%of second-hand book lots. Greatest interest from buyers led Russian books XVIII-XIX centuries of history, travel, and lifetime publications of Russian authors.
Categorical top lot of the auction was the first edition, the civilian implementation type of the Code "King and Grand Duke Alexei Mikhailovich. The publication of the first systematic body of law in Russia's history was published in 1737. The rarity of our sample (sold for 220,000 rubles) and are due to come down to our time engraved portrait of the king, filled engraver Wortmann.
Among the lifetime editions of Russian classics greatest interest was aroused by three publications AS Pushkin in the journal "Telescope", published in 1831. These publications have been curious by the fact that apart from the poems of the poet, they contain two critical articles, signed by one of the aliases of the poet - Feofilakt Kosichkin. The magazine found its buyer for 160,000 rubles.
Interest was the publication of the Russian writer, playwright, literary and theater critic, journalist and historian Nikolai Alekseevich Field (1796-1846) devoted to the life and work of legendary personality of the XIX century - Napoleon Bonaparte. It was sold for 190,000 rubles. Not the last role in the successful sale of the lot played his remarkable collector's safety - that everyone was dressed in a wonderful cover polukozhanny era.
We note also the sale of three bibliophilic lithographed folders Russian artists of the early XX century - AP Ostroumova-Lebedeva, BM Kustodiev, KF Juon. The first two were sold for 130,000 rubles, the last of 70,000 rubles. In this beautiful, collector position on the antiques market, these publications are extremely rare!
