Baturin, Alexander Borisovich (1914 – 2003)
In 1931-34 – introduction and professional communication with a student of Malevich, Vladimir Sterligov. In 1934 together with Sterligov arrested, exiled to Ufa. In 1938, arrested again, sentenced to eight years in the camps. In 1956, after the rehabilitation he returned to Leningrad, worked at the Mill graphic art of the art Fund of the USSR. Member of artists Union of Russia (since 1973). Honorary member of the International Federation of artists (IFA, 1991). Participant of all exhibitions of the group Sterligova, several personal exhibitions. Puninskii laureate award (1994). In 1995 in Paris established the Institute of Alexander Baturin. In his landscapes Baturin, based on cubist techniques of generalization, but not breaking with the real object, creates a majestic image of the eternal nature.

Alexander Baturin – beautiful, strong and subtle master, faithful to the principle of elected without becoming a slave, but making it a means of continuous improvement.
