Nonconformist artists . He studied at the Moscow City Art School ( 1946-49 ). . In 1949, the school was disbanded for formalism , and the students transferred to the school of 1905 , which Vechtomov graduated in 1951. His friends and classmates were Vladimir and Lydia Nemuhin Masterkova . In the mid-1950s, they came together with Vechtomova in Lianozovskoe group. Her older participants were Oscar Rabin, Eugene Kropyvnytskyi , Leo Kropyvnytskyi . Nicholas Vechtomov belongs to the artists, which began with the revival of the avant-garde art in post-Stalinist Russia . The creative style of the artist was formed in the early 1960s . His style is easily recognizable by its distinctive red-and- black color and smooth texture like lacquer painting. The master's works are in many museums and private collections .
