Karnelia Baba was born in 1906 in Craiova . Graduated from the Academy of Arts in Iasi , and then became a teacher . Already recognized as a painter, he moved to Bucharest. An extensive series of paintings dedicated to the life of Romanian peasants to victory of the socialist revolution in Romania. One of the outstanding works is considered to be "Staying in the field." The artist depicts the pathetic peasant family , resting on a hot afternoon in the field . My father is sleeping , covered with an old duds , sleep overcame and the boy , who worked alongside adults . No one is sleeping mother . Sitting beside sleeping, she watches over them rest. She stuck to her hard on the knees , and in the face of the whole figure feels a heavy fatigue. Her pale, pretty face and dark eyes full of concern and anxiety. With a delicate sense of proportion artist releases a picture of unnecessary details and details. Nothing distracts the viewer from the three workers. The rich dark brown color , vibrant silvery white and pink spots , makes the composition "Peasants " ( 1958 ) dramatically rich.
