The collection of graphics Vologda Regional Art Gallery has about twenty thousand units. The exhibition presents a classic piece of this collection - a collection of drawings and watercolors Russian XIX - early XX century.
A decisive role in shaping the museum's collection of Vologda played activities of the Northern Circle of Fine Arts (1905-1920).
As the number of regular and honorary members SKLII included well-known figures of Russian culture - Ilya Repin, E.E.Lansere, G.K.Lukomsky. Over the years, a circle of numbered from 80 to 100 members.
In 1909 he received a donation from E.E.Lansere who sent in their future museum graphics, magazine illustrations and vignettes to the "Syrian stories" S.S.Kondurashkina.
In 1912, in the house of the mayor N.A.Volkova starts to gather art collection. Mug of the means to acquire works from exhibitions, accepted gifts from artists and collectors, there have been "expeditionary" trip to Moscow and St. Petersburg.
