Stamov Basil Gavrilovic (1914-1993)

People's Artist of the RSFSR (1986).
Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR (1986 - for the sculpture "Peace", "Anxiety", "torso", "bread").
He was engaged in preparatory classes at the VAC at V.S.Bogatyreva (1935-37), then studied at the sculpture department of the Institute of
Painting, Sculpture and Architecture
at AT Matveev (1937-1947).
In 1947-50 - worked on the LPF.
In 1959-78 - Chairman of the sculpture section of the artistic council LO CP
RSFSR.
In 1964-69 - a board member of the Leningrad branch of Union of Artists of the RSFSR.
In 1969 - a member of the advisory council for the monumental sculpture of the Culture Leningrad Executive Committee.
In 1975 received the gold medal of the Academy of Arts of the USSR
for their work, "Weaver", "Working Morning", "The Postman Eugene Khokhlova," "Lermontov", "Peter I".
The author of the monument to Vladimir Lenin in Simferopol (1967), Memorial "Mourning" in Pavlovsk (1986), memorial to the soldiers of the Leningrad front in Kolpino, a monument to Mikhail Lermontov in Penza
Fountain "Aykyzy" in Ufa, sculpture "Girl with a dove" in the park on the Petrograd side in St. Petersburg, a monument to the soldiers of World War II mass grave in the cemetery of Pushkin.
