This is obvious , but the " reserve price " and " bottom rod estimate " - in the world are two different things . In all Western auctions, in which I participated , bargaining begins with at least 30 percent below the bottom bracket estimate, and if no one responds and the reserve price allows the auctioneer may go down : " In 200 there are none ? Ok, as What about 100? No? A 50? '. Only on Gelos bidding starts with the bottom bracket estimate, and with no interest auctioneer immediately proceeds to the next lot. I think that's one of the reasons that so few sold. On Kristi's and Sotbi's takes much longer , but a fair amount of things goes well below the estimate. And on Gelos such things simply remain unsold.
