Over 70 years of his creative life Bourgeois tried her in all styles of avant-garde, from surrealism to abstract expressionism and post-minimalism, not forgetting the Ready-made, rather than getting none. Louise Bourgeois was born in Paris in 1911 to paint beginning with 11 years in the early 30's. admitted to the College of Fine Arts. In 1938 she married the art historian Robert Goldwater and moved to the United States. On her first solo exhibition in 1945 was exhibited only her paintings.
The first sculpture appeared in 10 years.
In the early 90's. Bourgeois turns to elastic materials - rubber and liquid gypsum, from which she creates biomorphic works representing the body, real or fantasmatic.
One of the central motifs in her work becomes a spider.
