По умолчанию "... Apparently this is a workshop for some tidbit, someone wants it to get"

"Maxim Kantor - a wonderful artist, would be a shame if he ever leave Russia because of what he has taken away the Moscow studio. Expressed this opinion on the radio station" Echo of Moscow "gallery owner Marat Gelman, commenting on the artist that he is going finally move to Europe because "the Union of Artists" deprives his studio.

"It is a significant artist, no doubt about it. Certainly more interesting than the members of the Union of artists who evicted him," - he said.

However, Guelman said that he considered the situation itself eviction M.Kantora "stupid" because, according to him, for this is not so much the desire of some state organizations oppress the artist as someone's private greed. "Union of Artists for me is an anachronism, is a kind of dead from the Soviet era remained firm, it's just the owners of shops, nothing but shops in this Union is no more. Apparently for some workshop is a piece of cake, someone wants to get it," - he said. '

I hope the artist will be able to defend the right to his studio and will understand everything. I wish him good luck!
Totally agree with you, good luck to Maxim Kantor.

Why do not I go back to Russia
26/01/2013

I was kicked out of the Moscow studio - thus evicted from Russia - decided to talk about it.
In the center of Moscow is my shop, on the first floor of the house, uninhabited fund 71 meters.

Читать дальше...
The workshop I have 34 (thirty four) years.
We shared it with his father, an art, after his death, I was one tenant - a painter.
All my pictures are written in it. I work in it so far - although the last year and a half am most of the time in Europe.
My paintings in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, the Museum Novosibirskokom, Tolyatinskom and another in 24 major museums around the world, including the British Museum and the Australian Art Gallery.
I represented Russia at the Venice Biennalle, exhibited regularly - 3-5 exhibitions a year. At the moment - an exhibition in the Tretyakov Gallery, five months ago - an exhibition at the Russian Museum of St. Petersburg.
My exhibition and museum activities not simply undeniable - for Russian artist unique.

In my absence (I am now in Germany), collected by the Commission of the Union of Artists, and I decided to move out of the studio. Chairman of the picturesque section Pavel Nikonov announced at the meeting that I shop rent to tenants. It is a complete lie.

Anyone who has even a nodding knows me knows that this is an unrealistic assumption.
The Commission acted out a scene - allegedly called me on the phone (of course, no call was not!) And allegedly received confirmation that I do not need a studio. This circus needed for rapid solutions. Decided to break down the door, and my workshop canceled.

Good people have sought out to offer urgently fly to Moscow to hire a lawyer - should urgently to prove that I was a Russian painter, and I need a workshop.

Nothing that I do not intend to.
My stay in the West is due to my intense artistic activity - I'm preparing a show in Berlin, Venice, New York - by the way, will be shown in Tomsk, Omsk and Togliatti. Interrupt their work to please those who want to deprive me of the studio - I will not.
More than that: I think it improper to prove in his 55 years, after thousands of painted, I am an artist and a workshop in Russia I need.
It's humiliating.
I dare say that I am not the least of Russian artists.
If MOSH (and Russia in the face of the organization) decided to sell my studio, and I move out, then so be it - and that means that I go back to Russia will not have to.
Other place in Moscow and in Russia, I do not.
If there is no one who could stop this mess - so I do not deserve protection, reputation is not earned.

One request to those who break the door: in my studio (besides graphics) rare Philosophical Library, manuscripts father, tapes Korzhavina N. and A. Galich, recorded at home, manuscripts, Zinoviev and valuable photo archives. It would be a shame if it all disappeared.

In conclusion, a few remarks of a personal nature:
1) Chairman Pavel Nikonov good friend of my friend Grigory Revzin - probably a call would be enough to explain the savagery and illegal actions.
2) Pavel Nikonov - an artist whose paintings my father (Editor CI) repeatedly published in his journal at the time when the "severe style" had to defend.
3) In all my books, I advocated a realistic drawing (that is, the religion of the Moscow Union) defended realism of profanities and commerce. Funny - that Russian painters repay me this way ..
4) my workshop - a place of historical: at different times of my guests here are - Zinoviev, Mamardashvili, Hans-Dietrich Genscher, Hobsbawm, Rostropovich, Negri Korzhavin, Nannen, Ludwig, all you name it. Will be a little strange to see on their site office travel company.
4) Spread this message, please - at least, I want the contents became known widely. He who can give to the newspapers - reports.

No lawyer I do not want to hire.
In Russia, the place for me no more - there is no place to come back - then so be it.
