Before you use the services of UPS, I called them to the customs department and asked if a book of cultural value. I was told that all of the books over 50 years old are automatically considered to KC.
The book last week arrived at the warehouse UPS, I said it as a cultural value.
Full details about the book - a description, links to the auction, information about Ayn Rand, etc. was transferred to the UPS 20 December. Today, finally called a girl from UPS and reported that they spoke with a representative of the Ministry of Culture and the representative said that the book is not a cultural value, because the order of 117 cultural values are only books over 100 years old, so I have to pay customs duties.
More than a representative of the Ministry of Culture strange decision. If I had known, I would have sent it to his friends in London, and later took them to himself. Do you think it possible to somehow appeal the decision or is it impossible?
