And you know that Rouault's own hands, destroyed more than 300 of his paintings? In the presence of a notary, that they are not dropped prices. Paintings he returned to the heirs A.Volara.Suschestvuet newsreel of the event.

Several times I asked a question about this story, that's what I found:

In 1917, Ambroise Vollar suggested Rouault sign an exclusive contract with him and buy him all the 770 works by the artist, are in the studio. Rouault agreed, but on condition that he would have the right to end those purchased works, which he considered unfinished.
In 1939 Vollar died, and his heirs refused to extradite Rouault unfinished paintings - they claimed that they are the owners of these pictures without any conditions.
Then Rouault filed them in court. The trial lasted for 8 years, and in 1947 it was decided that the heirs Vollara should give him all the pictures.
Rouault at the time was 77 years old, and he understood that the time to finish the works he will not, therefore, in the presence of a bailiff, he burned the 300 pictures that he considered unfinished.
