Painter, graphic artist, arts and crafts.
Since 1874 worked at the Stroganov School of Technical Drawing, where he studied and specialized in decoration and crafts. Created on the orders of lighting projects and church plate. In 1880 he was issued with a diploma scholar painter. He continued his studies in MUZhViZ at IM Pryanishnikov, ES and P. Sorokin, Vasily Perov. For educational work he was awarded two silver medals. Upon its completion in 1882, moved to St. Petersburg and entered the IAH. In 1883 he was awarded a large and a small silver medal for the sketch and drawing, in 1884 - a large silver coin. In 1886 he received the title of class artist level 2 for the performance of the "St. Irina takes arrows at St. Sebastian. "
In those same years, the magazine asked the chart, put their pictures in the magazine "Niva", "Swallow", "World illustration", "North".
In 1884, accompanied by the Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich on a tour of the Russian North, creating along with other artists album "In the north of Russia." In 1885 he was in the retinue of His Highness the journey in the Baltic Region as an illustrator.
He worked in the field of genre painting, creating portraits. He took part in academic exhibitions. In 1889, for the painting "gifts dining room" was awarded the title of class artist of the 2nd degree.
