Biography
Son Russified Baltic Germans, a veteran of the Crimean War, George Knight, cabinetmaker August Lyapsa and Ukrainian Maria Bondarenko. (My parents were not married: Lutheran Lyaps not want to move to Orthodoxy, and their children - a daughter and five sons - were her mother's name.)
