Aven «Generation" will present an extensive and representative exhibition
«Riga artistic porcelain. 1925-1940 ». for the first time as a full and varied exhibition, introducing the amazing designs Riga art porcelain, will be shown outside of Latvia. The exhibition is part of Riga Days in Moscow and with the support of the Riga City Council.
The exhibition "Riga artistic porcelain. 1925-1940 "brings together a number of significant and interesting collections, including the works of art from the collections of the Latvian National Museum of Art (100 works from the collection of the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design) and the Riga Porcelain Museum (10 eksponatov), as well as items that are stored in some private Collectors (81 artworks from the
Aven, Shabtai von Kalmanovich and family Zuzans), thus providing a vivid and complete picture of the development of art and porcelain industry in Latvia in the 20th and 30th years of XX century.
The organizers aim to introduce a wide range of audiences and art lovers with a unique cultural heritage of Latvia, which in a professional artistic level reflected similar themes to the Latvian people and brilliantly embodied the ideas of European modernism.
With the support of the Riga City Council issued a high-quality, detailed (at 312 pages),
catalog in three languages - Latvian, Russian and English, giving the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of porcelain in Latvia.
