Absolutely correct. If you are lucky with the teacher and the interest will probably develop into something more serious.
When you go to the Pushkin Museum next door to the building the children's school - there are exhibited in the lobby of the students. When I first saw long eyed with suspicion signature 5 years, 6 years old. In these studies, another advantage - the competition. The child sees what others can and he tries. And they, by the way, there is a special drive to sketch in the museum halls. A wonderful sight - kids with tablets in the work of Matisse .
Excuse me, but not forced to agree.

At such an early age the child to draw better on their own and do not have a so-called authorities and EXAMPLES eyes. Drawing their own, the child is fully manifests itself without succumbing to the influence of creativity of other children and teachers. The competition does not stand up poorly formed children's character and crucial for the child and someone else may be harmful, it is possible - an erroneous opinion and praise for another child.
Babe quickly responds and begins to like to imitate someone praised and most likely - lose yourself ...
Let me give two examples from personal observation:
1 - In the classroom became friends 2 girls 7 years - both very, very talented, each drawing its own, a wonderful children's style and was no doubt of their creative future.
Some time passed and the apparent strength of character - a girl (a strong and strong-willed by nature) flourished in his paintings and the second (completely fallen under the influence of the first) degraded irreversibly.
2 - To me as a friend brought a girl 8 years with a request to see her paintings and advise the teacher.
I was struck by pictures of this child! It was something amazing! Pictures looked at me already formed an extraordinary artist!!
I strongly encourage parents not allocate the girl to the teacher, led all reasonable arguments but apparently in vain ... The parents were far from the arts and saw just a reluctance to help.
The girl was all taken to the same sort of studio and accidentally saw her "paintings" in a couple of years I was hurt for the lost miracle ...

So it is apparently not rare. Forgive me for such a long text.
