Sergey Kalmykov (1891-1967)
Painter, stage designer. In 1910-1914 gg. studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in St. Petersburg in the art studio, VN Zvantseva from MV Dobuzhinsky, LS Bakst and KS Petrov-Vodkin. In 1935-1962 gg. worked as a theatrical artist in the Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet named after Abay (Almaty). His paintings are stored in the State Museum of Art in Kazakhstan, Orenburg State Museum (Russia), in private collections and collections.
After his death in April 1967, in the absence of heirs, a special committee of the Ministry of Culture of Kazakhstan Sergey Kalmykov's personal archive was deposited in the Central State Archive. <> Documentary Materials Fund, chronologically related to the period 1892-1967 gg., Submitted drawings, sketches of stage scenery, matrix black and white color prints (canvas), manuscripts (diaries, memoirs, essays on the theory of painting), personal correspondence and photographs .
