My eldest son has five guitars : electric four ( two of them are good ) and a speaker . All very modern and when I compared the vintage to modern , to the shame of their difference in sound quality is not noticed. Although I know it's there. And it is clear that the true musician hears it . But at the amateur level, the sound of an expensive good new guitar sound better than a good old road . It is different but not worse.
Therefore, the performance is not correct to compare (often still far better than new ), but if the performance is added to the "history" - is yes . Here I have a tailor's scissors, dressmaker from the grandmother of some dark metal. No demolition and children with respect to them relate to them ( scissors , no children) probably a hundred years.
