In 1941-1942. Goryaev worked in the famous "Windows of TASS." Then, in the truest sense of the word "went to the front" - became the chief artist of the magazine "Frontline humor." Many illustrations made for settling down in the neighborhood "Krasnoarmeyskaya truth," the permanent editor in chief during the war, which was A. Twardowski (incidentally, it was there the first time published the chapter "Basil Terkina").
Also exhibited cartoons Vitaly Goryaeva for the magazine "Crocodile", the chief artist of which he was for many years. In memory of Vitaly Goryaeva in Moscow, the shot outdoors, 7, where he lived and worked, a memorial plaque, made People's Artist of USSR, Nikolai Nikogosyanom.
