Painting repeatedly published in the magazine "Antiques" as the work of an unknown artist, in connection with interest on the antiques market for Russian artists of the second plan.
Head of the Research historical archive Radischevskaya Museum Irina Alexandrovna Zhukova was identified by her signature and date (1917). Thus, we have learned another piece of the artist, whose legacy is preserved in a small volume - Fyodor Maksimovic Korneev (1869-1940-e gg.), Formerly known only as a friend VE Borisov-Musatov.

And although Korneev not made those discoveries in the painting, which has made Viktor Borisov-Musatov, did not create his direction, his name was well known in Saratov, and in Russia's artistic environment at the beginning of XX century. He was a graduate of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, received an excellent art school, and worked several years as an artist and teacher in the estate of Count AD Nesselrode.
"Portrait of a Woman" FM Korneeva was in a private collection. Now, he certainly will take a worthy place in the museum collection, which already has a number of his graphic works.
