All of it, with a slightly tilted head, shine moist eyes and a smile on her lips half parted, covered by the joy of being. Is there some kind of primordial harmony in her flushed cheeks rounded person, firm, full neck, shoulders and arms with a ripe, filled with life-giving juice of grapes.

Imbued with a sense of inexhaustible strength and vigor, the image of Italian merge with nature, lavished their gifts. The sun's rays, which penetrate through the foliage of the vineyard, cover his face and figure of a young woman.

Beautifully written by a white cloth shirt incorporates shades of the surrounding greenery. In the cold tones withstand immersion in the penumbra of the left shoulder Italians. Introduced Bryullov red shawl, which finds an echo in her cheeks blush, given in the muted sound.

"For the correct location of shadows and light, I work at a picture of this very real vineyard in the garden" - wrote Bryullov about this product, stressing that created it in the open air. The content of the picture of the nature of physical sensation: the noonday heat, and cool shade, thirst and anticipation of the taste of grapes. This odnofigurnaya composition in which pronounced spiritual state of man. The picture represents the highest point reached by Bryullov in this group of works that develop the theme of interaction between man and nature. Work on such products has been linked, of course, the tireless study of nature.

The painting "Italian Morning" was written in 1823, was a huge success and was presented to the Society for the Encouragement of Artists Alexandra Feodorovna, wife of Nicholas I. The emperor wanted to get a pair of "morning" now that the impetus for writing Bryullov film "The Italian afternoon." "Noon" was written in 1827 and became the cause of rupture of the artist with OPH. The picture appeared on the show in St. Petersburg and received a lot of unflattering reviews. Critics felt that the model is not elegant and not "in the classical ideals of" beauty. However, time will put everything in its place, and now the "Midday" is deservedly takes its place among the masterpieces of world art.

Both works, "Morning" and "Noon" were in the Winter Palace, in the private apartments of the Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, but that does not interfere with the artists and the public to see them. In the "Diary" by the artist Mokritskiy on October 14, 1835 tells of how he visited the boudoir of the Empress Venetsianov to view these works.

The first version of the picture is kept in St. Petersburg, State Russian Museum.

Later, with minor adaptations, a smaller version of "The Italian half-day" was written by Bryullov in 1831. This painting is kept in the Tretyakov Gallery.
