Unfortunately I do not remember what site I was taken biography of the artist, but I want to note that Kharitonov masterly portraits.
Kharitonov Nikolay
9.12 (27.11) .1880 (Yaroslavl Province.) - 30/09/1944 (New York). Painter.
In 12 years he graduated from rural school in Yaroslavl province. Arrived in St. Petersburg, went to work in the stationer's shop, later - in the studio for the production of signs. Around 1895 went to Balaam, became a novice in a monastery for two years to paint icons. He returned to St. Petersburg, attended the School of Drawing OPKh and private workshops LE Dmitrieva-Caucasian. In 1901, he joined a volunteer in the Arts, from 1902 he studied at the Repin's studio. In September 1909 received the title of the artist's painting "Icarus".
He worked in St. Petersburg. He painted portraits and genre scenes, landscapes and the Russian North Caucasus; executed portraits of the royal family. Participated in the Spring exhibition in the halls of the Academy of Arts and 44-th exhibition TPHV (Pg., Moscow, 1916). Received awards Competition. AIKuindzhi for painting "Nanny" (1910, Museum of Arts acquired) and "Lady in Black" (1913, acquired the Leipzig Museum of International you ¬ rate in Munich), 1 third prize OPKh of genre painting for the painting "On the swing "(1911), the anniversary of the prize. Princess Eugenie of Oldenburg for the painting "Prazdnikv village" (1914). He was a member of the Society. AIKuindzhi, the community of artists and Yaroslavl Art Society. In 1912 traveled to Europe, worked in Paris, studied at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts.
During World War I was called up and commissioned by the Trophy committee drew portraits of generals of the Russian army. In 1916 he performed two portraits FIShalyapin and a series of pencil sketches. Participated in the 1 st exhibition of paintings and sketches in the sketches of the Company. AIKuindzhi (1917), 1-st state of free art exhibitions in Petrograd (1919) and an art exhibition "Lotus" in Rostov-on-Don (1919).
In 1919 he emigrated to the Kingdom of C x C. The designer was in the Croatian national theater in Zagreb. Since 1923 he lived in New York, took American citizenship. He worked as a portraitist. Introduced in GRM, GTSTM and other museums of Russia.
