I must say that our meeting with Natalia was not very long - I was in a hurry for the train, dusk outside the window, and, unfortunately, many works have been for various reasons, unavailable for viewing. Nevertheless, the overall impression still managed to make: the first, and perhaps most importantly, Natalie, if I may say so, "fakturist" from God. Her paintings have to be sure to watch live. Otherwise it is impossible to experience the pleasure that you get from getting close to these rough, muted of color things, like cracked or peeled mercilessly.
Natalia is sometimes mixed into the paint like sand, the result - such wonderful work, as a small but significantly significant "Beach of Valencia" (Natalia for a long time lived in Spain but the Spanish winter frost (yes do not laugh - it is not a trifle, and not fiction !) drove her to St. Petersburg, where the mighty iron batteries are more reliable wide-open to all winds foci).
There (in the picture) scattering of brownish on the storms and scorching heat umbrellas, painted thick strokes swollen, close to scratching the paint layers of sandy beach, barely large to fit on a rough vertical lap.
In the graph it technique is, of course, gouache. Dried streaks of paint, rough brush strokes - all its element, it is like a fish in water.
Like her paintings, Natalia complex man, but also very interesting. As in her painting in her fight urge to light, color, ink saturation (this is Spain, in which the artist obviously in love) with the desire to go into the shadows, to merge with overcast spaces, stuffed garages, rusty pillars of power, peeling fences (this is St. Petersburg, that it was inspired) ... Where in all this is hard to say the truth, because Natalia sincere and eager to be here and there. But here's what will win - sooner or later tell her art.
