October 6, 1873 Fedor Aleksandrovich Vasiliev died. Friends of the artist staged his posthumous exhibition. All exposed on her work, including sketches and drawings were sold out even before its official opening. Only Pavel Tretyakov acquired for the gallery 18 pictures at once .
