"The camera in the hands of the artist becomes an instrument of Belkin - says in his introduction to the album of the exhibition organizer of Aslan Chekhoev - and each photo - not just a documentary portrait, a visual essay, imbued with sympathy and understanding. Many portrayed - friends for decades. This project - the author's deeply personal judgment about the people who built St. Petersburg art of the late twentieth century, on their terms, on each of them, that they are alive and are also the "Faces" and "acting."

I'd add a few words.
The event, I must say, was a success. The public has come very much - it was just too tight. Were many "helpers" and it was amusing to observe and compare their "live" and portraits. We must pay tribute to the Belkin. It opened as the observant, thoughtful and talented photographer. And, indeed, are often caught myself thinking that some of the portraits were more "like" than in real life <! - ~ 1 ~ ->. Just have fun, especially since almost all the characters are well known. The range of persons, imprinted photographer is, in essence, or characters, which are taken directly attributed to the Leningrad underground, or their artistic heirs. Exception bit.
By the way, in his short speech, Belkin said that on this show he has almost the first time left an impression of something desired, made for real.
