Zinaida Serebryakova (nee Lancer) was born (November 30) December 12, 1884 at his estate near Kharkov Neskuchnoye. She belonged to one of the most famous art families Benoit-Lancer. After graduating in 1900, female high school, enrolled in art school, founded by Princess Tenisheva.
At the time of his youth appeared Serebryakova creative association "World of Art" - it was in 1898, pioneers were his uncle, the artist Alexander Benois and his friends.
Magazine and the exhibition "World of Art" entered the life of the young artist as self-evident.
In 1914-1917 work Zinaida Serebryakova experienced a period of prosperity. During this period she painted a series of paintings on themes of national life, the peasant labor and the Russian countryside.
Ekaterina has sought to establish an ideal of beautiful, harmonious female characters. Her manner of inherent attraction to the monumental and decorative solutions, equilibrium compositions, tangible, sensual modeling volume, accuracy of drawing and concise writing.
September 19, 1967 in Paris at the age of 82 years, Zinaida Serebryakova died.
