Looking at the front, "mirror" aspect found in some places a kind of "regular structure".
Imagine that you are a very fine needle, fill the holes in the solid sheet of paper, so that any three adjacent form an equilateral triangle with a base length of about 0.4 mm. You will get some regular structure.
So, the impression that in the manufacturing process at first was just such a structure (holes /notches in bronze), and then on top there was something more applied and polished. Over time, the outer coating wearing off in places, and "holes" cropped up in places.
"Chance" is not chaotic, but unlike in any drawing "strokes" - thick with a trace of flamastera and a little more localized as a whole somewhere at half the radius (from the center of the circle).
