Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was born November 24, 1864, in south-western France in Albi. Family of Toulouse-Lautrec was very noble, belonged to an ancient noble family. Henry in his childhood poor health, but early showed a tendency to draw.

Great influence on his style of drawing had a work of the Impressionists and Japanese prints. However, it differs from the classical technique of impressionism in his work is less romantic moods and more accurate strokes that show the essence of the nature of the character. In the early works the artist painted mostly friends and relatives.

At 19, he wrote the painting "The Countess de Toulouse-Lautrec at the breakfast table in Malrome" at 23, "The Countess Adele de Toulouse-Lautrec." In 20 years, the artist opens his own studio in Montmartre.

Continues to work hard in the genre of portraiture. Easily enters the world of the Paris Bohemians, knowing inside out Nightlife is reflected in the subjects of his paintings, "La Goulue, a member of the Moulin Rouge," "Dance at the Moulin Rouge," "Lessons from Valentin new girls at the Moulin Rouge."

Painter finds pleasure in showing his paintings in activities of daily living around him. Bright sends individual character, not hiding his faults, but his paintings are imbued with warmth and love for his characters: "Living in the Chateau de Malrome," "Desire Dio (reading the newspaper in the garden)," "WC (red-haired)."

Contemporaries knew Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec as a more genial master posters. At its creative account for more than 30 posters, made as full a picture with his character and recognizable features of "Jane Avril in Jardin de Paris», «Divan japonais» and others.

Toulouse-Lautrec died on September 9, 1901.
