People's Artist of USSR (1971), corresponding member AH the USSR (1954). In 1929-1931. studied in VKhUTEMAS-VHUTEINe in NK Istomin, PY Pavlinov, N. Udaltsova, DS Moor. Employee of the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda" (1931-38), the journals "Change" (1929-1937) and "Crocodile" (from 1938). In 1952 he was awarded the USSR State Prize for a series of works "Mayakovsky about America." Series "This must not happen again!"
