I was told of a case. One picture of George Shishkin (pastel) transport (closed only a thin tracing paper), torn from the trunk, fell on the roadway face on the asphalt - which acquired it in Moscow was taking her to Paris. It happened on the highway leading from the airport. He stopped the car on the roadside, but the movement was so intense that he could not immediately take her. And this was even a little rain. Imagine the situation? In the picture flux drove the wheels of cars (about one hundred). When the owner of the picture, which came in the horror of what he saw, finally managed to pull out now, he saw that ... Pastel painting survived.
He called the artist in Moscow to tell about the incident: "Such a nightmare! .." The artist, still not knowing what was over history, tried to calm him down, they say, do not worry, I'll come to Paris now correcting, or (if possible) a new write.
