INTERFAX.RU - According to international ratings, Moscow occupies 70th place in the world for quality of life, said at a meeting of the Public Chamber of Russia Director of the Center for monitoring of situation and Regional Studies, Russian Academy of National Economy under the Russian president, Alexander Savchenko.
"According to international ratings, Moscow is quite an honorable 21th place as a city of opportunity, but at the same time the quality of life is only the 70th place among world cities," - said Savchenko.
He noted that these rankings clearly characterize the overall potential for the development of the city.
"At the same time, the (other) international ratings, Moscow is the last - the 26th, among the world's cities after Sao Paulo, Istanbul and Mumbai health and safety, to last place (25) after Beijing, Sao Paulo and Mumbai - for ease of doing business "- added Savchenko.
He noted that the intellectual potential of the Russian capital and innovation is in the middle of the world ranking behind only Singapore, Hong Kong and Madrid, taking 17th place.
"This place is Moscow's position on technology readiness, after London, Paris and Toronto," - said the director of the Center.
He stressed that adaptation to life in Moscow is 26 (the last) place after Shanghai, Johannesburg and Mumbai the same.
"It is obvious that the established trends of Moscow has a positive outlook. Therefore, the prevailing trend to purposefully change" - added Savchenko.
He noted that it was created for this purpose and strategy of socio-economic development of Moscow in 2025.
