Diego Rivera (1886-1957) - one of the most famous artists of Mexican painter and muralist, a political activist.
Diego Rivera was born in Guanajuato in the northwest of Mexico City. C 1896 to 1902 he took lessons of drawing and painting at the Art Academy of San Carlo in Mexico City. For success has been awarded a scholarship, which allowed the artist to go to Spain. From 1907 to 1921 he lived in Europe, Rivera. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid (1907), and then lived and worked in Paris (1909-1920), Italy (1920-1921). Also visited Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. Was familiar with the artistic elite of Paris, including Picasso, Alfonso Reyes and others.
Since 1922, he became one of the founders of the Mexican School of monumental painting, writing a huge number of walls of public buildings.
In 1927 he arrived in the USSR, where in 1928 became a founding member of Association "in October." At the beginning of their participation in the communist movement Rivera followed the Trotskyist views, but then (after the assassination of Trotsky) has taken a position more consistent with the official rate of Stalin.
Rivera worked in the U.S. in 1930-1934 and 1940
In 1931, held a major exhibition of works by Diego Rivera at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
For several years after 1934 he worked mainly easel painting. Working in oils and watercolor techniques, preferred genres such as portrait and landscape.
As an artist, Rivera was influenced by both classical European art (murals studied XIV-XVI centuries), and modernism, particularly Cubism. Very close to him were and traditional Mexican art genres and styles. One of the main themes in the work of Rivera were folk stories, beliefs and customs of the people of Mexico.
In 1955-1956 the artist re-visited the Soviet Union.
His wife was - the famous Mexican artist and revolutionary Frida Kahlo (1907-1954).

Jose David Alfaro Siqueiros (1896-1974) - Mexican artist, painter, graphic artist, political activist, an active member of the communist movement.
Siqueiros was born in the Mexican city of Camargo, Chihuahua province.
In 1911. entered the Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Mexico City.
From 1919 to 1922. Siqueiros lived and worked in France and Spain.
On his return to Mexico with D. Rivera and Orozco JC founded the Syndicate of the revolutionary painters, sculptors and engravers, who enjoyed the support of the state.
In 1924 Siqueiros was one of the leaders of the Mexican Communist Party. He helped to organize trade unions, co-operated in the working papers and participated in international congresses, trade union and communist organizations in Moscow, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and New York.
In 1930 he was arrested in 1931, exiled to Taxco, where he created a large number of paintings, lithographs and woodcuts.
In 1932-1934 and 1935-1936 Siqueiros worked in the U.S..
In 1937-1939 Siqueiros participated in the Spanish Civil War on the Republican side. In 1940, participated in organizing the assassination of Leon Trotsky, then living in Mexico.
In 1960 he was arrested prior to 1964 and imprisoned for organizing student protests in Mexico City.
Repeatedly visited Moscow (1927, 1955, 1958 and 1972).
Honorary Member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1967), winner of the International Lenin Prize "for peace between nations" (1967).
