I would like to share my impressions of the museum of Art Nouveau in Riga.
Museum memorialized the outstanding Latvian architect Konstantin Pekshensa, who lived in this house. The museum building on the street. Alberta 12 was built in 1900 as a private home of an architect. His project was developed jointly with K. Pekshensom Eyzhenom Laube, while still a student of architecture. The museum has restored the authentic interior, 1903. In 2007 began researching the premises, opening and fixing the original interior decoration. A restoration work lasted from 2008 to 2009.
Visitors can watch authentically restored and equipped apartment: entrance hall, lounge with bay window, fireplace with an exhibition of furniture and objects of Art Nouveau era.
Great and the rest of the room - dining room, bedroom, maid's room, kitchen, bathroom. Restored to the original painting the walls, stained glass windows, tile, door and window handles.
And finally, on the ground floor of the building - an interesting and informative exhibition on digital art nouveau.
