I will continue his theme of the artist Gennady Troshkove display of paintings from «Paper Series» (the very same series to which the canvas "paper on the blue" because the audience liked our esteemed forum .) These works date from the late 1990s - early 2000s. Using the traditional technique of oil /canvas, the artist makes a composition in which there is an image element of crumpled paper. These paper objects are very actively engaged themselves in the space of the canvas: interact with the "smooth" forms, and bristling rustle, casting shadows on the plane contrasting background.

This series of papers can be read as a continuation of the line hyper-realism, projected on a very small thing - a piece of crumpled paper, considered carefully, as if under a magnifying glass. (The roots of the hyper-realism in the philosophy of art are Jean Baudrillard, "simulation of something that never really existed." Giperrealisty create a false reality, convincing illusion.) Option hyper-realism, full of Gennady Troshkovym has a very theatrical character - portrayed an object (a piece of crumpled paper ) starts to behave very actively, akterstvovat and grimace under the magnifying glass close observation of the artist.

Just comes to mind is a long tradition of painting "Dummy", a leading their own history since the era of the Late Antique art - "snag" is intended to introduce the viewer in a very misleading picture of likely non-existent object. It seems to me that here, even more so than than the already mentioned giperealizme, was set to purely technical execution of the picturesque image of the object. And this comparison with an old painting seems to me highly appropriate in the context of a conversation about painting Troshkova, because I wrote that the degree of "madeness" on how to technically pigment in paintings Troshkova distributed by poverhonosti canvas glows like this the most canvas, there is something on the care and patience of the old masters. (My own association, maybe because of piercing blue backgrounds and colors - this is the Northern Renaissance painters).

Here is my favorite work from this series, and the same fragment.

movement to the left. 2001. The diameter of this work being done on an old wooden table top - more than a meter.
