На гугле "вылезает" только Joe Masteroff, автор мюзикла "Кабаре". Родился в 1919 году в США. Родственник? Фамилия редкая...
А вот о его матери:
Rose Masteroff, whose family fled her native Russia a step ahead of the anti-Jewish pogroms, died on Monday at her Boca Raton home. She was 102.
``She looked maybe 80, maybe, and acted 40,`` said her daughter, Vera Korman.
Mrs. Masteroff was born in 1886 in Kishinev near the Black Sea in what is now the Soviet state of Moldavia. Her family fled in 1903 as the pogroms against the Jews began boiling over into Russia`s smaller towns. Her father, a salesman, and her mother, a physical therapist, settled in Philadelphia.
She made hats and studied pharmacy before marrying Louis Masteroff, a chemist, in 1911. Her husband established Masteroff`s, a wholesale yarn, bead and needlecraft store on Arch Street. Mrs. Masteroff helped run the business and raised her two children -- playwright Joe Masteroff of New York City, author of Cabaret, and Korman, who lives in Boca Raton. Louis Masteroff died in 1951.
